True Faith: Race for Life

Some people think of faith as a magical force. But true faith is not something that you ”muster up”. True faith entails perseverance, endurance and boldness. Characters in the bible like Abraham, Moses & David did not even receive the promises that they hoped for. Faith resembles a difficult race with the runner eyeing a winner’s prize, and despite nagging temptations to slacken the pace, he refuses to let up until he crosses the finish line.

In a race, one punishes their bodies for two reasons: the sense of personal reward and to get fit. The same two rewards apply in our race as believers of Christ: great prizes await those who persevere, and the very process of living by faith builds strong character. In this race as Christ-followers, no one loses. If you finish, you get the reward.

Hebrews 11:1 Now faith is being sure of what we hope for and certain of what we do not see.
