A Filipino Kids Pastor

Sunday Recap: Facts Tell, Stories Sell

The past 2 weeks we did the series “Are We There Yet”, it was about missions, reaching nations. Our KIDS Team was so into it even donning national costumes; the kids even joined us the following week and came in different costumes as well.

It wasn’t just pageantry that took place. The kids sincerely realized that they have a part in spreading the gospel to all the nations. What transpired last Sunday is a testament of how God will use these kids to spread the gospel.
Jonas who was leading worship, exhorted the kids to pray for the nation that their costume represented. After Jonas, I took the mic to pray and to transition it to the host when suddenly I saw Tey. Tey is one of our volunteer who is a member of the Cambodian royalty. She has been in the country as a student and it was in Victory New Manila where she got to know the Lord. She has been active in Greenhills ever since.

I saw Tey in Music Museum attending the adult service earlier and I was so surprised when she walked in. She said that she went to KIDS Church because God told her tell her teammates to pray for nations. Lo and behold when she walked in I asked her to the front to be prayed for. I was prodded by the Holy Spirit to ask her up front, tell the kids her story that she is going back to Cambodia after graduation and prayed for her. She was in tears as the kids were laying hands on her and praying for her then she gave the kids a short testimony. She is already excited to go back to her homeland and start spreading the gospel.

This was one of the shortest message I gave, a total of 5 minutes only but one of the most effective as the kids really absorbed Tey’s story.

Matt. 24:1 “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in the whole world as a testimony to all nations, and then the end will come.”
