God Bless, P.Noy

God Bless, P.Noy

Jun 30, 2010

President Benigno “Noynoy” Simeon Aquino III was sworn in today as the 15th president of the Republic of the Philippines. This president campaigned for change and he is a breathe of fresh air to a majority of Filipinos after 9 years of Arroyo administration. I can’t recall where I exactly heard it but it is so true that 9 years is an eternity for a bad president while it’s too short for a good one.

Our family was glued to the television, as most and we were rejoicing and celebrating with the rest of the country for a peaceful transfer of power. It is our prayer that after the euphoria is over everyone would buckle down and work for the betterment of this nation.

With all the song numbers that were composed and sang, a common theme arose, unity, solidarity and change. This change is attainable; I agree with the president that it is not up to him alone. Change starts from each one of us, pay your taxes correctly, don’t bribe, don’t throw garbage on the street and obey traffic rules. I remember how former president, Cory Aquino instructed her PSG Escorts to be courteous and obey traffic rules. I pray that P.Noy will be true to his words and does this to. It might be small and insignificant but it would reflect on his character. He uttered clearly that he would lead by example and this is a start.

He started his inaugural address rather awkwardly pertaining to his assumption in office as a road to Calvary yet he ended it strong acknowledging that he is elected to office not to rule but to serve.

It gave me goose bumps when he said that today the dream starts to become a reality. I did not actually vote for P.Noy, but he needs each one of us, praying and persevering to make this nation great. Change starts with each one of us, it doesn’t stop when we elected a populous president, it’s only the beginning. Let each one of us be part of the solution and not be part of the problem.

God Bless the Philippine, God Bless the Filipinos!

2 Chronicles 7:14 if my people, who are called by my name, will humble themselves and pray and seek my face and turn from their wicked ways, then will I hear from heaven and will forgive their sin and will heal their land.

  1. President Noy has done nothing yet still for the country. The man ascended towards a higher spot primarily because people all around him are merely using him for political causes. Noynoy is absolutely not an economist so please stop passing the buck to the previous regime of President Arroyo in connection with the economic complications of the Philippines.
