Seven months from now, we Filipinos will once again troop to the polls and exercise our right to elect our leaders both for local & national positions. This exercise is the great equalizer; all Filipinos are equal with one vote no matter what your status in society is. Let us take pride and do not underestimate our right to vote.
Deadline for registration which is on October 31, is fast approaching. It is alarming that there are still an estimated 6 million voters yet to register with only 7 days to go. COMELEC in different cities and municipalities are extending their work hours form 8am to 9pm until October 31. Let us forego of our “Mana Na†habit, don’t wait for the last day and register now.
To register go to your city or municipal COMELEC center, bring an original and a copy of a valid id, secure a registration form (white form for new registrants & green forms for transfers) and make sure you smile when they take your picture. For more inquiries visit http://www.comelec.gov.ph/.
Go out, register and vote. You don’t have any reason to complain about your elected official if this right to suffrage you don’t exercise. Let’s make this stand to make a difference for the future of our country.
God Bless The Philippines, God Bless Us All!
